CWG 2022: Mitchell Starc joins wife Alyssa Healy to celebrate Australia women’s cricket team’s win at the Commonwealth Games.

Australia won the gold medal after beating by nine runs:-

Australia won the gold medal after beating India by nine runs in the final on Sunday (7 August). With the win, Australia completed a treble, having previously won the T20 World Cup 2020 and the 50-over World Cup 2022.

This isn’t the first time Stark has come to cheer for Healy and the women’s team. The fast bowler was also present during the ODI World Cup 2022 final when Australia defeated England to win their seventh title.

Healy didn’t set the gold medal match on fire:-

Although Healy did not set the gold medal match on fire, Australia managed to post 161 for eight thanks to Beth Mooney’s 41-ball 61.

Before Ash Gardner, Mooney was supported by his captain Meg Lanning (36 runs in 26 balls). Played an important role in 25 runs in 15 balls.

In reply, Australia dismissed India’s openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma one after the other.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemima Rodrigues:-

Incoming batsmen Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemima Rodrigues not only won India again but put the team in a position where it looking like India would be in trouble.

However, Megan Schutt had other plans as she cast Rodrigues for 33. Gardner put Australia on top.

Took the wickets of Pooja Vastrakar (1) and Harmanpreet Kaur (65 off 43) in successive deliveries. In no time India lost five wickets for just 31 runs and lost by nine runs.
