CWG 2022: Six members of the Indian women’s cricket team are yet to get a visa

CWG 2022: Now just less than 48 hours left for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham. But six members of the Indian women’s cricket team are yet to get visas. Women’s cricket is making its debut at the Commonwealth Games. Training of the Indian team is going on in Bangalore. And he has to leave for Birmingham on Sunday. The BCCI is in touch with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on this issue.

An IOA source told PTI, “Some visas were received today but six visas are yet to be received in which three players and three players are from the support staff. The rest of the visas should arrive by tomorrow. Anyway, we have no control over this process. It is busy due to summer and it is taking time to get a UK visa.

IOA officials assured that the players whose kits did not reach Bengaluru will reach here by Saturday.

India’s party chief Rajesh Bhandari finally got his visa on Friday and will soon join his teammates in Birmingham.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Thursday informed that a member of the team has tested positive for COVID-19 and is in isolation. It is learned that this cricketer is recovering fast.
