On the very second day of the second Test match, Australian opener David Warner scored a double century, but this double century has overshadowed Warner itself. Actually, Warner celebrated it with a lot of aggression after scoring a double century. Because of this celebration, he injured himself and had to retire hurt and go out of the field. David Warner became emotional after scoring a double century. He squealed with joy. First of all, he got down on his knees on the ground and started screaming. He has become only the second batsman in history after former England captain Joe Root to score 200 runs in his 100th Test. However, he broke many records with his century. Prior to Warner becoming the 14th cricketer to play 100 Test matches for Australia, former captain Ricky Ponting became the first Australian player to score a century in his 100th Test match. Ponting achieved this feat against South Africa in Sydney in January 2006.

The first 100 matches in Test cricket were played by Colin Cowdrey and he also scored a century in it. After him, Javed Miandad, Garden Greenidge, Alec Stewart, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Ponting, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Root and Warner scored centuries in their 100th Test match. As soon as Warner completed his 81st run, he also completed 8000 runs in Test cricket. He is the eighth Australian batsman to achieve this feat.
