Cricket Australia recently changed its code of conduct :-

Cricket Australia recently changed its code of conduct to allow David Warner to appeal the lifetime ban on captaining. It was handed down to him in the wake of the 2018 Cape Town ball-tampering scandal.

“Any applications will be considered by a three-person review panel, comprising independent Code of Conduct Commissioners,” CA said in a statement last month. “(They) must be satisfied that exceptional circumstances exist to justify modifying a sanction.”

But Warner announced on Wednesday evening that he was pulling out of that process.

David Warner said this :-

“Regrettably, I have no practical alternative at this point in time but to withdraw my application,” Warner wrote in a strongly-worded, nearly 800-word long statement.

“I am not prepared to subject my family or my teammates to further trauma and disruption by accepting a departure from the way in which my application should be dealt with pursuant to the Code of Conduct.

“Some things are more important than cricket.”
