On 16 March Raj, activists of Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena broke the windows of a luxury bus parked outside a 5-star hotel to bring players for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. Officials gave this information in the early hours of Wednesday. Around half a dozen workers of MNS-Vahtuk Sena (Transport Wing) entered the bus before midnight, pasted posters of their demands, raised slogans, and started smashing windows in front of the bus.

Attacked against buses

Later an activist, Sanjay Naik, said that they were opposing the way buses were hired from outside the state for this purpose and depriving the locals of employment opportunities. “Despite our protests, they have allowed many buses and other small vehicles. Here from Delhi and other parts, which is affecting the livelihood of the local people,” Naik told IANS. Police rushed to the spot to avoid damage to more buses. And detained at least three MNS-VS workers in the early hours of Wednesday.
