The top BCCI official said, “We have discussed with Pandya, who has been asked to play domestic white-ball tournaments when available. At this stage, as per the calculations of the BCCI medical team, he is not in a position to bowl in the red-ball tournament. Therefore playing Ranji Trophy is out of the equation for Pandya. If he is free from national duty, he will have to play other white ball tournaments. If not, he will also lose the central contract. ,

It is understood that in the future, BCCI will also instruct the contracted players to report to their state unit when they are not part of the national team set-up.
