Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik will serve as a batting consultant with the England Lions for nine days when the visiting team tours India. Karthik will be part of the team’s coaching team on the England Lions tour, which will play three unofficial four-day Test matches at the same venue from January 17, followed by a practice match in Ahmedabad from January 12.
Dinesh Karthik will work as cover for Ian Bell :-
Karthik will act as cover for England Lions batting consultant Ian Bell who is currently with Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League. Karthik will work with head coach Neil Killeen along with assistant coaches Richard Dawson and Carl Hopkinson. Former England spinner Graeme Swann will also be a part of the coaching team as a mentor.

Four practice matches will be played between India A and England Lions from January 12 to February 4. During this period, a five-match test series will be played between the teams of India and England.
