IND vs NZ: India has opted out of T20 restart after being ousted from the T20 World Cup in November. Rohit Sharma is currently the captain across formats, but it is Hardik Pandya who has led the T20I team in the last three bilateral series. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, however, remained silent on the debate over India’s scattered captaincy.

Rahul Dravid said on the captaincy in his press conference –

“Not that I’m aware of. That’s a question you need to ask the selectors but as of now, I don’t think so.”

BCCI is playing the waiting game for the captaincy of India. While the focus is on the ICC World Cup 2023, some in the Indian board understand that Rohit Sharma will retire from one or two formats after the World Cup.
