“It was nice to have the right results (India won both the series 2-1) in both the series (against South Africa and Australia). You need luck in this format, especially in close matches. We didn’t have that in the Asia Cup, but luck came against Australia.

Dravid said,

“We decided after the last T20 World Cup, made a conscious effort to sit down with Rohit and be positive “We have the batting to play positively. We had to build our team with batting depth and we are happy with the way we have come together.

India had rested Virat Kohli and KL Rahul after winning the series before Tuesday’s match. Rishabh Pant opened the innings and Dinesh Karthik was sent at number four to give him more time at the crease.

Dravid said,

“Today was the time to give chances to those who have not batted much. It is difficult for people like Rishabh, and Dinesh. I wish both had continued, they were batting brilliantly.
