Duleep Trophy 2023: Shivam Mavi of Uttar Pradesh wreaked havoc, did this work

Shivam Mavi, Duleep Trophy 2023: Central Zone captain fast bowler Shivam Mavi put on a fine display to bundle out West Zone batsmen in the semi-final of the Duleep Trophy here on Wednesday.

Excellent bowling by Shivam Mavi :-

Uttar Pradesh’s Mavi dismissed veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara (28), aggressive batsmen Suryakumar Yadav (07); Sarfaraz Khan (00) and Atit Seth (74) to put his team ahead on the first day.

Mavi took four for 43 as West Zone were 216 for eight at the end of the first day’s play. Chintan Gaja was playing on 13 and Arjan scored five runs. Atit Seth scored the highest 74 runs for the team in which he faced 129 balls and hit nine fours and a six.

Duleep Trophy 2023: Avesh and Rinku collided with each other :-

During the match, Avesh Khan and Rinku Singh collided with each other while trying to take a catch which was played by Seth. Avesh did not bowl again in the day and Rinku’s participation in the day was also limited.

With Avesh not bowling, the edge of the middle-field bowling decreased a bit and Seth took advantage of this along with Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. A 73-run partnership for the seventh wicket between the two in nearly 25 overs kept the midfield bowlers quiet for a while. In the end, this partnership was ended by Saransh Jain by sending Jadeja to the pavilion.

Trying to get back :-

This semi-final match is very important for Pujara and Suryakumar to return to the national Test team. Both the batsmen could have returned to the team with a good performance, but they missed the opportunity in the first innings. At the same time, Sarfaraz and Prithvi are also trying to make a place in the national Test team.
