India’s senior-most pacer Ishant Sharma performed indifferently in the third match. Due to which he cannot find a place in the playing XI in the remaining two Test matches against England. Which the visitors lost by an innings and 76 runs. However, Ravichandran is all set for Ashwin to return to the playing XI.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma is not playing the fourth Test starting from September 2 at The Oval.

Sharma’s figures of 22-0-92-0 were among the worst among Indian fast bowlers as England posted 432 runs. He bowled mainly at 120 kmph in the end and 130 kmph.

Skipper Virat Kohli declined to speak about Ishant’s performance after the match. But indicated that there will be changes keeping in mind the workload of the fast bowlers.

There is no confirmation whether Ishant, who has a history of ankle injuries as well as side strain issues, was fully fit during the third Test match.

Ravi Ashwin may get a fourth test match

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja suffered a knee injury during the third Test. And it seems unlikely that he will play in the Oval Test match starting on 2 September. This could potentially mean that India’s premier spinner Ravi Ashwin may finally get a chance to play a game in the series. . He was also scheduled to play the second Test at Lord’s, but the management opted to go with only one spinner due to cloudy weather on the match day.

Lot Of Experience-

Ashwin comes with a lot of experience and has been in good touch during his county stint with the Sussexes. He also had a stellar series against England at home earlier this year. He took 32 wickets and was named player of the series. Ashwin’s extra pace and spin on the ball make him a dangerous bowler. Also, he can double up as a useful lower-order batsman.
