The last match of the three-match Test series was played between England and New Zealand at Headingley, Leeds. England also won the third Test by seven wickets. With this win, England has made a clean sweep of New Zealand. The English team won the three-match series 3-0. England won the first test by five wickets and the second test by five wickets.

Batting first after winning the toss in the third test, New Zealand scored 329 runs in the first innings. Daryl Mitchell scored 109 runs for the Kiwis team. Apart from this, Tom Blundell scored 55 runs. Latham (0), Will Young (20), Captain Williamson (31), Conway (26), Henry Nicholls (19), Michael Bracewell (13) could not do much.

In the end, Tim Southee scored 33 runs and took New Zealand to a good score. Spinner Jack Leach took five wickets for England. At the same time, Broad took three wickets. Apart from this, Matty Potts and Jamie Overton got one wicket each.

England scored 360 runs in the first innings

In reply, England scored 360 runs in the first innings. Jonny Bairstow scored 162 runs. At the same time, Jamie Overton scored 97 runs. At one point in the first innings, England had lost six wickets for 55 runs. Bairstow and Overton then put on a 241 run partnership for the seventh wicket.

Broad also played an innings of 42 runs and took England to 360 runs. For New Zealand, Trent Boult took four, Southee three, Wagner two and Bracewell took one wicket. England took a lead of 31 runs.
New Zealand’s team scored 326 runs in their second innings. Latham scored 76 runs, Captain Williamson scored 48 runs, Mitchell scored 56 runs and Blundell scored 88 runs. Six New Zealand batsmen could not touch the double figure. Leach once again took five wickets for England. At the same time, Matty Potts got three wickets, Overton and Root got one wicket each.

England’s Jack Leach, who took 10 wickets in Tests together in both the innings, received the Player of the Match award. At the same time, two players were given the Player of the Series award.

Those two players are Joe Root of England and Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand. Root scored 396 runs in six innings at an average of 99 in the series. At the same time, Mitchell scored 538 runs in six innings at an average of 107.60. Mitchell was the highest run-scorer in the series.
