ENG vs SA, 3rd Test: Before the start of the third Test between England and South Africa at the Oval in London, the ground paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on Thursday. The match was to start on Thursday, but the first day’s play was washed out by rain.

Friday’s play was canceled in memory of Queen :-

Friday’s play was canceled in memory of the Queen. The match began on the third day of the Test, as both the teams entered the field and the crowd stood in silence. The players were given Military Guard of Honour.

The South African national anthem was sung and then the updated English anthem followed, with the crowd joining in.

In the second match, England took revenge for the defeat :-

Both teams entered the match with a 1-1 draw in the series. South Africa defeated England by an innings in the first match and won in three days. England avenged their own innings defeat in the second game.

Given that both the matches were over in three days, perhaps the fact that the third Test will only have three days should not have hindered either side’s chances of getting the result.

Winning the toss and electing to field, England got off to a great start with the ball. Ollie Robinson, James Anderson and Stuart Broad all stunned the visitors as South Africa were down to 36/6 in the 12th over.
