England Sacks head coach Chris Silverwood

England left the company with head coach Chris Silverwood after their 4-0 Ashes loss against Australia.

The Sacked As Director of Men’s Cricket :-

The decision, which was widely expected after the cataclysmic visit, comes 24 hours after the sacking of Ashley Giles as director of men’s cricket.

It was only a few weeks before England depart for a three-Test series in the Caribbean.

Richard Dawson, currently looking after the England Young Lions in the Under-19 World Cup, where they play India in Saturday’s final, to take charge of the Test team against the West Indies, with more interim appointments in the coming days has emerged as an outstanding contender.

Chris Silverwood said: “It is an absolute honor to be the head coach of England, and I am extremely proud to work with our players and staff.”

“I want to thank all of them for the hard work and commitment. They put in during my time in the role and I wish them the best of luck moving forward.”

The Acting As His Assistant-Coach :-

Silverwood was promoted from his assistant-coach role in 2019. And took over from England’s World Cup-winning head coach, Trevor Bayliss, after that summer’s Ashes campaign.

However, the COVID pandemic created unique complications for the national team. Including the entire summer of matches behind closed doors in 2020 and the continuation of a bio-secure team environment thereafter.

Silverwood eventually recouped the price for 12 months of form. In which England won one and lost 10 of their last 14 Tests.

He also had full responsibility for England’s white-ball fortunes, with a special focus on the 20-over script guiding the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in April.

Under the chairmanship of assistant coach Paul Collingwood, the West Indies won 3–2, before attacking the Caribbean after the Ashes.

“The last two years have been very demanding. But I’ve really enjoyed my time with the team and working with Ruthie and Morges. And I’m very proud of the group given the challenges,” Silverwood said.

“I leave with good memories and now I look forward to spending some quality time at home with my family and embarking on the next chapter.”

Graham Thorpe’s position as additional assistant coach was under special investigation after an incident that occurred early in the morning after the fifth Test in Hobart last month when police had to be called after lighting a cigar in an indoor space at the team hotel.
