The Former England all-rounder Tim Bresnan through his club Warwickshire has announced his retirement from professional cricket, following a career spanning close to 20 years.

Tim Bresnan said on Monday (January 31), “It has been an irresistibly difficult decision, but after returning to winter training, I think it is the right time.”

“I have continued to work hard throughout the off-season to prepare for my 21st professional year, but deep down I feel I cannot reach the high standards I have set myself and my teammates.

The hunger and enthusiasm I have for the sport I love will never leave me, but by the time my head is ready to tackle the 2022 season, my body is not.”

said Bresnan, who played a background in Warwickshire, to earn an eighth County Championship title in 2021.

“I will always look at my career with great pride and it is an absolute honor to lead Warwickshire, my country, and my country,” Bresnan said.

Bresnan guided England in 23 Tests, making his Test debut in 2009 against the West Indies at Lord’s. He has also played 85 ODIs and 34 T20Is. In his first-class career, he took 7,138 runs and 575 wickets with 7 centuries and 9 five-wicket hauls.
