Ex-Chief Selector: Chahal is our best T20 bowler in terms of wickets

Yuzvendra Chahal has never disappointed his captain Virat and he’s always given you wickets. He has done superbly in the last 4-5 years. Chahal was dropped from India’s T20 World Cup squad. He was tremendous with the bowl in the second leg of IPL 2021, he has picked 10 wickets in five games.

Former chief selector MSK Prasad told-

“I think Chahal is our best T20 bowler in terms of wickets. He has done superbly in the last 4-5 years. Fortunately, or unfortunately, what the selectors would have thought is the competition between Rahul Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal. On flat wickets like in Bangalore, he (Chahal) has never disappointed his captain Virat and he’s always given you wickets.”

Prasad, surprised by Chahal’s omission-

Yuzvendra Chahal was left out of India’s 15-man T20 World Cup squad and the selectors named a squad with five specialist spinners. Recalling Ravichandran Ashwin for the marquee tournament. But what caught the eye of many fans omission of Chahal from the provisional squad. Speaking on Chahal’s non-selection for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Prasad surprised by Chahal’s omission said that the leg-spinner has never disappointed Virat Kohli and has bowed well on flat tracks in Bengaluru.

MSK Prasad objected to the selection committee for including Rahul Chahar ahead of veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the 15-man Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Chahal has accounted for 14 wickets-

Yuzvendra Chahal has hit the purple patch in IPL and has accounted for 14 wickets so far. His performance comes in the backdrop of the T20 World Cup snub where selectors preferred Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja over the 31-year-old. Earlier in the day, he also accounted for the crucial wickets of Mayank Agarwal and big hitter Nicholas Pooran which made sure RCB put a break on Punjab Kings’ run chase which looked well on course by the time KL Rahul departed with the score reading 91.
