Former England captain Michael Vaughan calls Shoaib Bashir the next Ashwin

Young spinner Shoaib Bashir has performed brilliantly in the five-match Test series being played between India and England. Former England captain Michael Vaughan has also been greatly influenced by Bashir. He has said that his performance in the Test series against India has made him worthy of the next superstar tag of English cricket. Vaughan has described him as the next Ravi Ashwin.

Shoaib Bashir made his test debut against India :-

20-year-old Bashir made his Test debut in the Test series against India. After this he also played in the fourth test match. By taking five wickets in this match, he had put England in a strong position but India made a comeback and won the match by 5 wickets. Apart from the youngster’s bowling ability, Vaughan believes that the brilliance that Bashir has shown is something that English cricket should celebrate despite its negative results.
