Former MCC and SACA’s Keith Bradshaw has passed away

South Australia Cricket Association (SACA) chief executive and former Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) CEO Keith Bradshaw passed away. On Tuesday (9 Nov) at the age of 58 after a prolonged illness.

Keith Bradshaw was CEO of SACA since 2011 :-

Bradshaw was CEO of SACA since November 2011. Having previously served as the first non-Englishman in the role of Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the MCC. In addition to his appointment in 2006.

He also played 25 first-row matches for Tasmania between 1984 and 1988. He also scored two Sheffield Shield centuries as a middle-order batsman and before retiring.

Bradshaw was fighting multiple myeloma incurable cancer for more than a decade while administering his duties at MCC and SACA. He was instrumental in the development of day-night cricket. With the Adelaide Oval becoming the first globally to host a pink-ball Test.

A Cricket Australia’s interim president said :-

“While many in the cricket family knew that Keith Bradshaw was suffering from an unexplained chronic illness. The News of his passing at such a young age is devastating to cricket. And To all who had the privilege of knowing him.” Richard Freudenstein said in his tribute to Bradshaw.

“Keith Bradshaw‘s contribution to cricket in Australia and the UK cannot be overstated. And His legacy is a constant testament to the reward of a lifetime in the game.

His Great Skill to be an innovator :-

“His Great skill as a cricket administrator was to be an innovator. Yet grasp and understand the importance of tradition. He had the simplest vision. When It came to strategy and yet got his staff to carry it out.” To empower was the lightest contact.

“He fought his long-term illness with courage and grit and in addition to whatever he was going through. Bradshaw always had a smile and plenty of time to meet everyone.

“Cricket will be too poor for his passing and I and everyone at Cricket Australia send our love and condolences to his fiancée Helen, children Juliet, Eliza, Donald and Jack, and son-in-law Patrick at this time.”
