Former cricketer Ajay Jadeja has given a big warning to Shubman Gill, citing the example of young batsman Prithvi Shaw. He has said that Shubman Gill did a great job by scoring a century in the second innings against Bangladesh but he should now focus on the future. Jadeja gave the example of Prithvi Shaw how he disappeared after a great performance.

Shubman Gill scored the first century of his Test career against Bangladesh. Gill scored 110 runs in 152 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes. He played a tremendous innings and after that he was praised a lot.

Shubman Gill should save this moment

However, Ajay Jadeja believes that instead of celebrating this century more, attention should be paid to the future. During a conversation on Sony Sports, he said, ‘Scoring a century in Test cricket is a big moment. I don’t even know what it feels like after scoring this century. These are only figures but they are very important. I can only talk about myself and not about others. It is like passing an exam. Shubman Gill needs to save this moment. If you see Pujara, he has scored 18 centuries but when he scored a century after three years, it was a different kind of celebration.

Shubman Gill should move on from here – Ajay Jadeja

Jadeja further said, ‘I hope Shubman Gill will continue to grow from here because he has shown that he is not the kind of player who will disappear after scoring a century. Prithvi Shaw was also of his age and he too had scored a century in the first Test match itself but is nowhere near now.
