Rajasthan Royals have signed keeper-batsman Glenn Phillips for New Zealand for the UAE leg of IPL 2021. Phillips is the first replacement player for the Rajasthan franchise. Which will be without England’s marquee players Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer.
The top-order batsman has 506 runs to his name in 25 T20Is with a strike rate of 149.70, and has also been involved in various cricket leagues around the world, most recently in The Hundred and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In the 2016-17 Super Smash he was the tournament’s leading scorer with 369 runs, including an innings of 116 off 57 balls.
Butler and His Wife are Expecting Their Second Child:
Archer has been out for the rest of the year following a recurrence of a stress fracture in his right elbow. Butler will miss the remainder of the tournament as he and his wife are expecting their second child. Incidentally, Buttler scored his maiden T20 century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Rajasthan Royals’ last match before the suspension of the tournament.
All-rounder Ben Stokes, who took an indefinite break from cricket to take care of his mental health, is unlikely to return after playing just one game in the first half of the season. Before a broken finger took him out of the rest of the match.

Phillips will also Play for Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League :
Phillips, who has not played in IPL before. They have enough shoes to fill Rajasthan Royals line-up. But he has form, being one of only five players to score a total of over 200 in The Hundred’s inaugural season. Phillips, who will also play for the Barbados Tridents in this year’s Caribbean Premier League. He has four T20 centuries in 134 matches and a strike-rate of 143.28.
Royals to Start Their UAE leg of IPL 2021 :
The Rajasthan Royals, who are fifth in the standings, will begin their UAE leg of IPL 2021 with a clash against Punjab Kings in Dubai on September 21.
