New Delhi. The issue of hosting the Asia Cup has not been resolved yet. The BCCI has refused to send Team India in case the tournament is held in Pakistan. Since then, different types of things are coming out about where the tournament will be held. In particular, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board has sometimes advocated for a hybrid model and sometimes for holding the Asia Cup in England. Shahid Afridi has strongly criticized PCB chairman Najam Sethi for his repeated statements regarding the hosting of the Asia Cup. Along with this, Afridi has said another big thing. According to Afridi, the Pakistan team must go to India to participate in the World Cup.

Shahid Afridi said on a show on Sama TV, “Najam Sethi should understand that the chair of PCB chairman is very big and there is a big responsibility on his shoulders. That’s why they should not change their stand again and again. He is repeatedly changing his statements regarding the Asia Cup. Sometimes saying do it here, sometimes there. Now he has spoken about holding the Asia Cup in England. I can’t digest his words. He does not need to give interviews everywhere.

Afridi Lashed Out at Najam Sethi
Afridi also targeted PCB chairman Najam Sethi regarding his age. He said that the chairman should be such a person, whose intentions are steely and who keeps his stand clear on any issue. He further said that the PCB chairman is repeatedly saying that the Pakistan team will not go to India to play the World Cup. I do not understand this thing. Hey, cricket is happening. We should send our team and tell them clearly that go and play the World Cup in India and bring back the trophy after winning it. The whole country is standing behind you. What would be bigger than going to India and winning the World Cup, it would be a kind of slap.
Let us tell you that the stand of BCCI is clear from the beginning that if the Asia Cup is held in Pakistan, Team India will not go there to play. That’s why BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has spoken about the tournament on neutral venue. But, PCB is adamant on conducting the tournament in Pakistan itself. Seeing things not working out, he advocated a hybrid model. Under this, a formula was given to get Dubai or somewhere else instead of Pakistan as compared to India. But, last week the PCB chairman suggested to hold the Asia Cup in England. His suggestion was being opposed in Pakistan itself.
