Happy Birthday Robin Uthappa, one of the best Wk batsman

Indian cricketer wicket-keeper batsman, Robin Uthappa, born on 11 November 1985, is celebrating his birthday today. He has played as an opener and as a finisher in some of the most exciting chases for Indian cricket.

Apart from Robbie, Uthappa has also got the nickname ‘The Walking Assassin’ for his famous shot, where he goes down the pitch and hits the ball straight for a six.

Career:

Robin scored a half-century in his very first match. Starting with captain Rahul Dravid, he scored 86 runs off 96 balls while chasing the 289-run target posted by England in the last ODI of their tour in India in 2006.

Robin Uthappa, who has been out of Team India whenever he is out of the team, seems to be performing brilliantly in IPL or domestic cricket. Here are some of the highlights of Robin, a Karnataka player who has played many memorable innings for the Indian team.

 Robin has another interesting record in his name. Robin Uthappa holds the record for most runs scored over 40, 11 times in a season. He holds the record of scoring more than 40 runs in 8 consecutive matches.

Robin Uthappa was the main player of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007.

Robin Uthappa has also played matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL, Royal Challenger Bangalore, Pune Warriors, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Family:

The Uthappa family was involved in the sport even before Robin started playing cricket for India. His father Venu is a hockey umpire.

Uthappa’s mother had filed a case of assault on his father. Their parents have been living separately for a long time.

Robin Uthappa, who appeared superfit, was once extremely fat. He also lost 20 kilos to play professional cricket.

Wife:

Robin Uthappa is married to Sheethal Goutham, a former tennis player.

Sheethal was born and brought up in Bengaluru and began playing tennis at the age of 9. She received a lot of help from her brother, Arjun Goutham, who like her, was also a tennis player. Sheethal has played several tennis matches and has also represented India in international tournaments.

She retired from the game at the age of 33.

Her social media account is filled with pictures of her family and friends. Sheethal is a fitness freak and loves to show her fans her love for fitness by posting lots of workout photos.

She welcomed her first child, a son, with the Indian cricketer in October 2017.
