Umesh Kumar Tilak Yadav is an Indian cricketer who currently plays for the Vidarbha cricket team, Indian national team, and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. A right-arm fast bowler. Yadav has played for Vidarbha at the domestic level since 2008 and is the first player from the team to have played Test cricket.
He picked 20 wickets for Vidarbha in four games. And his first big breakthrough came in 2010 after he was picked by Delhi Daredevils. Now renamed as Delhi Capitals, for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Umesh Yadav made his debut in international cricket in November 2011 from the West Indies series. In the first series, nine wickets came in his name in two Tests. After this game, he went on a tour of Australia till Team India. Team India lost badly on this tour but Umesh left a mark by taking 14 wickets. Umesh’s place was confirmed. But as the career progressed, injuries also came back and forth. Due to this his speed also decreased. But his good performance in Test cricket continued. Although Umesh’s game was definitely up and down in ODIs. He was selected in Team India for the 2015 World Cup. He took 18 wickets in the tournament and played a key role in taking India to the semi-finals.
Yadav was born on 25th October 1987. Umesh had a fascination with the game since his childhood, Before becoming a professional cricketer, Umesh unsuccessfully applied to join the army and the police force. Yadav tried to make a place in the college cricket team but was refused because he did not play for any club then in the year 2007 having previously only ever played tennis ball cricket.
On 16 April 2013, Umesh got engaged to Delhi-based fashion designer Tanya Wadhwa, and they were married on 29 May 2013. Tanya belongs to a Punjabi Hindu family.
