Hashim Amla will Not Play in South Africa’s Domestic Cricket

Veteran batsman Hashim Amla will not return to domestic cricket in South Africa. This was announced on Tuesday (September 14). The former South African cricketer informed the Western Province Cricket Association of his decision.

38-year-old Hashim Amla was originally named in the 16-man Western Province squad. who will play in the first division of South Africa’s new domestic structure.

Hashim Amla Will Not Don Six Gun Grill WP Colors this Season:

“It is obviously extremely disappointing that Hashim Amla will not be donning the Six Gun Grill WP colors this season. He would have been a huge asset to the team on and off the field, especially the group of talented young batsmen we have with us. Working with WPCA CEO Michael Canterbury said.

“I would like to thank Hashim Amla and his representatives for the open talks over the past few weeks. We all know that Hashim is one of the greatest players we have in South Africa and we want him to represent nothing more than WP Would love to, but we fully understand his reasoning and best of luck in whatever comes next for him and his family.”

Hashim Amla Has Been Active in the First class Circuit:

Despite retiring from international cricket in 2019, Hashim Amla has been active in the first-class circuit. who has enjoyed a productive outing for Surrey in the County Championship. In 12 matches so far, Amla has scored a total of 771 runs at an average of 51.40. In which 37 not out off 278 balls as well as a double century. Which helped him bat all day to save the match against Hampshire.

“I would like to thank Western Province for their open communication throughout the contracting process. And have made this decision based on where I am currently in my career and for my future endeavors. I wish the team the best I want the coming season,” Amala said.

Michael Canterbury Said that the Return of Hashim Amla is a Second Blow to the Western Province:

His return is a second blow to the Western Province. Whose designated captain Vernon Philander appointed as the specialist bowling consultant of the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup. It remains to be seen whether Philander joins the team after his coaching stint.
