BCCI has announced all its central contracts on 28th February, after which everything has happened exactly as expected. That is, BCCI has terminated the central contracts of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer with immediate effect and now it is going to be very difficult, if not impossible, for both of them to return to the Indian team.
Will have to perform brilliantly in IPL 2024 :-
Also, both of them being out of the central contract clearly means that now it is almost impossible for both of them to get a place in the Indian team in the near future and whenever an Indian team is selected, they will be the preferred choice of the selectors to get 30 central contracts.
However, this does not mean that players outside the central contracts cannot or will not be selected.
Currently, both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have both quality and age and both will now aim to perform brilliantly in IPL 2024. If he does this then it will definitely open doors for the Indian team again and this is exactly what a BCCI source said.

A BCCI official told ESPNcricinfo :-
“The selectors do not doubt his ability. But if the NCA is saying that you are fit and you are not making yourself available for the Test series, then how can the BCCI give you a contract,” a BCCI official told ESPNcricinfo. Is?
“After the IPL, if they are selected and meet the criteria of the number of matches required for a prorated contract, they will be awarded a contract.”
After all, what happened in the case of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer ?
Also, let us tell you that in a report by ESPNCricinfo it has been said that the selectors had contacted Kishan during the India vs England Test series but he said that he was not ready. The decision makers did not like this decision.
But the case of Shreyas Iyer is a little different. Iyer was part of the playing XI for the first two Test matches against England. He reportedly complained of back pain but was declared fit by the NCA and following this the selectors did not include him in the squad for the next three Test matches. Iyer decided to skip the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals citing the same back injury, but the NCA medical team informed the Mumbai selectors that Iyer was fit and at the same time, Iyer was spotted at the Kolkata Knight Riders training camp.
