‘I was not taking a dig at his batting’, AUS veteran defends himself after taunting Virat Kohli

Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh has commented on Virat Kohli’s slip-catching. He questioned the slip catching ability of Virat Kohli. Let us tell you that Virat dropped many catches in the first two matches of the ongoing Test series between India and Australia.

Now Mark Waugh attracted the attention of the people and said –

“I think Virat Kohli spreads his legs too wide while fielding. His weight is often on the back of the heel instead of the feet.”

Waugh further said, ‘Sometimes it seems that he is not expecting the ball to reach him. However, while fielding, he should always expect that the ball is going to come to him.

However, the former cricketer also said that he is not questioning Virat Kohli’s batting ability. He praised the innings of 44 runs played by Virat in the second innings of the second test.

Waugh said – “I was not sniping at his batting. I was questioning his catching, which he really improved on. He worked hard on it. But I cannot believe that Virat Kohli has not scored a century in 39 innings.”
