The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Player of the Month award for the month of October. Among the men, India’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli has been given this award and among women, Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Nida Dar has been given this award. He has been given this award for his outstanding performance in the T20 series against South Africa and the T20 World Cup. Kohli was up against Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and David Miller of South Africa, but Kohli got the most votes.

Virat Kohli has performed brilliantly in the shortest format of cricket last month. He played an unbeaten 82 in India’s first match of the T20 World Cup against Pakistan. He single-handedly led India to victory in this match. Team India at one point lost four wickets for 31 runs against Pakistan and seemed out of the equation. After this, thanks to Kohli’s innings, the Indian team achieved the target of 160 runs. Kohli played only 52 balls for his innings of 82 runs. Kohli described this innings as the best T20 innings of his career.

In the T20 World Cup itself, Virat Kohli also scored a half-century against the Netherlands. In the second match against Netherlands, Kohli scored an unbeaten 62 off 44 balls. Apart from this, Kohli played an unbeaten 49 off 28 balls in the second match played in Guwahati during the home T20 series against South Africa. Thanks to this, India defeated South Africa in the T20 series.

India now has to face England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup on 10 November.
