ICC Promises Funding to Bangladesh

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan said on Saturday (September 4) that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has promised them a significant increase in their revenue in the next cycle starting 2023. The BCB chief insisted that the board had challenged. As the governing body of cricket, he believes that the funding he receives from the ICC is unjust. And now they are hoping to get as much as Cricket Australia in the next cycle.

In the Future (ICC) Funding Will Increase:

“Future (ICC) funding will increase. From 2023, we will get a lot more,” Najmul told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Dhaka.

“From the next cycle, Bangladesh will get the same amount as Australia. We are getting the same amount as Zimbabwe now. I had challenged the ICC. But there was no result as the revenue cycle had already started.”

Najmul claimed that his Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs) had crossed Rs 900 crore during his tenure.

The Money (savings) of Bangladesh Cricket Board has Increased a lot:

“The money (savings) of Bangladesh Cricket Board has increased a lot. We have earned it all. All our sponsors are local, not foreign. Now we have FDR of Rs 900 crore.”

A copy of that document is acquired. Which was presented to the Bangladesh Cricket Board councilors during their last AGM held on 26 August before the next board election.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Received Funding of BDT 832.68 Crores

According to the paper handed over to the councilors, Bangladesh Cricket Board has received funding of BDT 832.68 crore till the financial year 2019-20. The net earnings of the board last year (2019-20 financial year) was BDT 52.91 crores. Because he earned TK 332.82 crores. While he spent Rs 279.91. Along with this, in bank savings accounts and cash, Bangladesh Cricket Board has BDT 147.43 crore. Whereas during the same time he got FDR of Rs 545 crore.
