AUS vs PAK, Usman Khawaja: Australian opener Usman Khawaja is facing charges from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for wearing a black armband during the Test match against Pakistan at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Usman Khawaja did this act during Australia’s spectacular victory by 360 runs in the first test match of the series. Khawaja performed brilliantly in this match with scores of 41 and 90.

Usman Khawaja violated Section F :-

Last week, Khawaja criticized the ICC for censoring him and reaffirmed his commitment to advocating messages of support for civilians in Gaza. “Usman Khawaja has been charged with breaching Section F of the Clothing and Equipment Regulations, which can be found on the ICC’s Playing Conditions page.

ICC punishes Usman Khawaja for ‘displaying personal messages’ in AUS vs PAK Test

An ICC spokesperson said :-

An ICC spokesperson said,

“Usman displayed a personal message (armband) during the first Test match against Pakistan. Its display requires prior permission from Cricket Australia and the ICC, as required under the rules for personal messages. This is a breach under the category of “other breach” and is a punishment for the first offence.

Even before this, Usman Khwaja had done such a thing:-

Let us also tell you that Khawaja had earlier displayed the slogans “Freedom is a human right” and “Life is equal for all” on his shoes. The ICC warned him that possible sanctions could be imposed on him if he continued to wear shoes with these messages. After this, Khawaja covered the messages with tape but came to the field on the first day of the Test with a black band on his left arm.
