ICC T20 Rankings: Indian team became number 1 in T20 by clean sweep of West Indies, snatched chair from this team

New Delhi, Online Desk. India won the T20I series against West Indies 3-0 on the strength of a bang. India has established a dominant position in the ICC T20 rankings by making a clean sweep of New Zealand and then West Indies. Team India has achieved the number one chair, leaving the England team behind.

West Indies team could only manage 167 runs for 9 wickets

India won the series by defeating West Indies team 3-0 in the three-match T20I series. Team India showed a strong game in all the three matches played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the last match of the series, the Indian team, batting first, scored 184 runs for the loss of 5 wickets on the basis of Suryakumar Yadav’s half-century. In reply, West Indies team could only manage 167 runs for 9 wickets.

Number one Indian team in T20

India has achieved the number one ranking, leaving England behind in terms of points. The rating of both the teams is currently 269 while India have 10,484 points. England have 10 points less than India and due to this they have slipped to second place. Pakistan’s team is in third place with 266 ratings. New Zealand is fourth while South Africa’s team is at number five.

Second consecutive clean sweep

India had earlier also made a clean sweep of New Zealand in the home T20 series. The Kiwi team could not win a single match in the 3-match series. India also cleaned West Indies by winning three matches. India won the first match by 6 wickets. Won by 8 runs in the second match and by 17 runs in the last T20.
