ICC U19 WC 2022: Yash Dhull and four others recover from Covid-19, Sindhu Positive

Nishant Sindhu, who captained the team in Dhull’s absence, was found to be Covid positive in the last league match against Uganda. Nishant will not be available for the knock-out match. And Yash Dhull has recovered from Covid-19 and is available for the knockouts.

Yash Dhull and four others recover from Covid-19-

India’s Under-19 all-rounder Nishant Sindhu will be ruled out of the quarter-finals in the Under-19 World Cup against Bangladesh after testing positive for Covid-19. However, India is set to be led by regular skipper Yash Dhull on Saturday. As he and four others, including vice-captain Sheikh Rashid, returned negative Covid tests after testing positive in the tournament.

Players who test positive in the competition will be in quarantine for at least seven days, which means Sindhu is likely to be unavailable for the semi-finals as well.

Earlier members of the Indian camp also returned positive results. West Indies also had to replace two players in their team before the final group match due to Covid.
