ICC Women’s World Cup 2022: South Africa beat New Zealand to Register fourth consecutive World Cup win

New Delhi, Online Desk. South Africa beat New Zealand by 2 wickets in the 16th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup. The team has not faced defeat in a single match so far. Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand had set a target of 229 runs in front of Africa, which they achieved by losing 8 wickets in the last over.

This is Africa’s fourth consecutive win in the World Cup. In the points table, they are now behind the Australian team on the basis of net run rate. Australia are currently at the top of the table. He has also won all four out of 4 matches.

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine missed a century

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine missed out on scoring a century. She got out on the score of 93 runs. He was bowled by African bowler Ayabonga Khaka. Apart from him, Emily Carr contributed 42 runs, Maddy Greene 30 and Brooke Hallyday contributed 24 runs for New Zealand. Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga took 3-3 wickets for South Africa in the bowling.

South Africa recovers from initial setbacks

Chasing the target of 229 runs, South Africa did not start well and the team got the first blow on the score of only 25 runs. But Africa continued their winning streak thanks to a brilliant 67 from Laura Woolvert and 51 from Sun Luss.
