IND vs AUS: Australia upset for not getting a chance to practice on Nagpur’s spin pitch, sought help from ICC

In the first match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia, the Kangaroo team had to face defeat by an innings and 132 runs. In Nagpur, the Australian team was able to score 177 runs in the first innings and 91 runs in the second innings. This match did not even last for three days. The Kangaroo batsman looked helpless in front of India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

IND vs AUS: Water turned on Australia’s plan to practice :-

After the crushing defeat in Nagpur, Australia had planned to practice on a spin pitch. The Kangaroo team wanted the players to practice on this pitch on Sunday and prepare for the second match to be held in Delhi. However, this did not happen.

Nagpur’s pitch curator put water on the pitch on Saturday itself and Australia’s practice plans were also in jeopardy. Since then the kangaroos have been stunned.

Former cricketer Ian Healy asked the ICC to intervene in the matter :-

IND vs AUS: Australia’s full focus is still on the pitch. In such a situation, former Australian cricketer Ian Healy has asked the ICC to intervene in this matter. Healy said, “It’s really a shame that our plans to have some practice sessions on that wicket in Nagpur were foiled.

It’s not good, it’s just not good for cricket. ICC needs to step in here. It was sad for him to water the wicket when requested for practice and that needs to be improved.”

The Nagpur pitch has been a talking point since the start of the Test series. Even after the match ended, it seems not much has changed.

Allegations were made even before the match :-

Even before the match, some Australian journalists and former cricketers accused the Indians of changing the pitch according to their needs. In the match, India posted a mammoth score of 400 runs in the first innings, while Australia could only manage a total of 268 runs in the two innings.

The pitch is expected to assist the spinners once again in the second Test in New Delhi. Australia, who haven’t played a single warm-up match on the tour, have been practicing on their own, but their plans seem to be backfired for the time being, with the Indian pitch and pitch curator being blamed for the loss.
