Virat Kohli was involved in a controversial DRS decision off Matthew Kuhnemann’s bowling. This incident happened on the third ball of the 50th over when Kohli was given out LBW. The ball hit the bat and pcriad simultaneously, but there was no conclusive evidence that the ball hit the pad before hitting the bat.
Earlier Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. The Australians were bowled out for 263, with Mohammed Shami taking four wickets, while spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each. Usman Khawaja was the top-scorer for the visitors with a brilliant half-century of 81 while Peter Handscomb batted well in the middle order and remained unbeaten on 72.
