IND vs AUS: Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 starting in Nagpur on Thursday, former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson gave the Pat Cummins-led team a winning spell. Mitchell Johnson has advised to bat first and get a good score to put pressure on the Indian team.

IND vs AUS: Speaking to “The West Australia” Mitchell said –

“If the Aussies can bat twice first at the start of the series and get a decent score on the board, there will be little pressure on India. Batting on a poor pitch in the fourth innings doesn’t present as much of a threat to the home team as it does for visiting teams.”

Talking about what the conditions will be like in Nagpur, Johnson said – “Australia will play a Test here in Nagpur for the first time since 2008. This is the ground where Jason Krejza took 12 wickets. Expect a pitch that is quick and without Flat on some grass, there won’t be much swing and it will be a tough task for the fast bowlers.”

IND vs AUS: Footmark is very important for spinners –

Johnson has also talked about how important the role of the fast bowlers will be in Nagpur. Because Australia will play without Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and possibly Cameron Green. The pacers will still need to create a footmark for the spinners and play a key role in the absence of left-armer Mitchell Starc.
