IND vs BAN: Second blow to India after defeat from Bangladesh, Team India fined 80 percent

The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Bangladesh was played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. Bangladesh won this exciting match by one wicket. After the defeat, Team India has suffered another setback. The ICC on Monday fined the Indian cricket team 80 per cent of their match fee for slow over rate in the first ODI.

Team India was punished

The ICC said in a statement – Match referee Ranjan Madugalle found that Team India bowled four overs short of the stipulated time in the first ODI. For this reason Team India punished. The ICC said- As per Rule 2.22 of the Code of Conduct, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fee for each over delay in their team’s stipulated time.

The ICC said that captain Rohit Sharma has accepted the mistake and has also accepted the proposed punishment. So there was no need for a formal hearing. The charge leveled by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Tanveer Ahmed, third umpire Sharfudola Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Ghazi Sohail.

What happened in the match?

Talking about the match, the Indian team reduced to 186 runs in 41.2 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 27 runs, Shreyas Iyer 24 runs and Washington Sundar scored 19 runs. Apart from this, Shikhar Dhawan scored seven and Virat Kohli scored nine runs. Shahbaz Ahmed and Deepak Chahar could not even open their accounts.
