Shubman Gill had received ultimatum :-
Shubman Gill had got an ultimatum after the Hyderabad Test match that if he flopped in one more match, he could be dropped from the team. In the first match being played in Vizag, he got out early in the first innings and there was even more pressure on him, but in the second innings he silenced the critics by scoring a century and again presented his claim for number three. .

Shubman Gill had alternative plans to work on his shortcomings: –
Amid speculations of Shubman Gill switching to domestic cricket to work on his shortcomings, the youngster had alternative plans. Demonstrating his commitment to make a comeback, he shared his decision to participate in the Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat in Mohali with a family member.
According to the Indian Express, he told a family member, “I will go and play a Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat in Mohali.” Gill’s performance in the last few matches had been poor. In the last 9 innings, only 153 runs were scored from his bat.
Regarding Gill’s batting, former cricketer Anil Kumble said: –
Regarding Gill’s batting, former cricketer Anil Kumble had also said that if Gill does not play in Visakhapatnam, Cheteshwar Pujara may get a chance again in the Test team based on the current Ranji Trophy form.
However, because of this century, Gill has again banned the entry of Cheteshwar Pujara. The Test series for three matches is yet to be announced and once again Shubman Gill will be selected at number three.
