Wife Preeti Narayan has shared an emotional post on Instagram regarding Ashwin’s achievement. Preeti wrote,
“We were looking for the 500th wicket in Hyderabad (first Test) but it did not happen. Also missed Vizag (2nd Test). On the 499th I bought a lot of sweets and distributed them to everyone at home. The 500th wicket came and went peacefully. Until that happened. A lot happened between 500 and 501. It was the longest 48 hours of our lives. But it is about 500. And before that about 499. What an amazing achievement. Wonderful person. Ashwin, I am so proud of you and we love you!”
