BCCI said in a media release on Friday, February 16, “Ravichandran Ashwin has withdrawn from the Test team with immediate effect due to a family medical emergency. In these challenging times, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the team extend full support to Ashwin.” Is.”
Also in the media release, the Board further said, “The health and well-being of the players and their loved ones is extremely important. The Board requests to respect privacy. Ashwin and his family are going through an extremely challenging time at this time.”
“The Board and the team will continue to provide all necessary assistance to Ashwin and will keep the lines of communication open to provide support as needed. Team India appreciates the understanding and sympathy of the fans and media during this sensitive period.”

Also, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla wrote on Instagram, “I wish R Ashwin’s mother a speedy recovery. She will have to leave the Rajkot Test and go to Chennai to be with her mother.”
Talking about the match, there are still three days of play left in the third Test and due to the absence of Ashwin, now the Indian team will have to proceed with the match with only ten players.
Also, by the end of the second day’s play, England had scored 207 runs after losing 2 wickets, in which the biggest contribution was from centurion Ben Duckett, who has so far scored 133 runs in 118 balls with the help of 22 fours and 2 sixes.
Apart from this, we got to see two centuries in the first innings also. In this, Rohit Sharma scored 131 runs while Ravindra Jadeja played an inning of 112 runs.
