IND vs ENG, 3rd Test: Team India registered a historic win against England on Sunday, 18 February. India defeated England by 434 runs in the third test played in Rajkot. This is India’s biggest Test win in terms of runs.

Had to leave the match midway due to mother’s ill health: –

Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had to leave the match midway on the second day of the Rajkot Test (16 February) due to a family emergency. Actually, Ashwin’s mother was unwell, due to which he took this decision. He came back on the field after the tea break on the fourth day. He took two wickets in the match. His 500 test wickets have been completed.

Rohit Sharma gave a big statement on Ashwin ‘s family emergency: –

After the victory in Rajkot, Indian captain Rohit Sharma gave a big statement on Ashwin’s family emergency. Rohit said that the decision taken by Ashwin was absolutely right because family comes first.

“It is not easy when you lose your most experienced bowler in the middle of a Test match,” the captain said in the post-match press conference. But all things aside because family comes first. And when we heard this news, no second thought came to our mind. We wanted Ashwin to do what he felt was right.

Rohit Sharma further said :-

Rohit further said, “He wanted to stay with the family, which was absolutely the right decision. It was good for him and his family. This shows what a good-hearted person he is. We are happy to have him back.”

It is noteworthy that in the third test, India set a huge target of 557 runs for England on the basis of the double century of opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal (214 not out in 236 balls). The England team was reduced to just 122 runs in 39.4 overs in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets.
