IND vs ENG, 3rd Test: India’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is quite satisfied after becoming the second Indian to take 500 Test wickets and when he was asked about breaking Anil Kumble’s mega record, he said that he wants to chase Anil Kumble’s national record of 619 wickets. No interest in doing.

Ashwin told the media after the end of the second day’s play: –

“The very simple answer to this is ‘no’,” Ashwin told the media after the end of the second day’s play of the third Test against England. This record is 120 wickets away. I want to live every day and I am 37 years old. Don’t know what’s going to happen next. What will happen in the next two months? You are playing this series and then you don’t know what happens next.

Ashwin further said, “This is what I have learned in the last four-five years, it is very simple and has worked for me. Why change what works for you?”

Congratulating Ashwin on his official social media accounts on Friday, February 16, PM Narendra Modi wrote, “Congratulations to Ravichandran Ashwin on the extraordinary achievement of taking 500 Test wickets! Also, Australia’s Nathan Lyon also completed his 500 Test wickets last December. Ashwin revealed that this Australian player has also congratulated him.

Recalling his long journey, Ashwin said:-

Talking about his journey on the most memorable day of his career, Ashwin said, “It has been a very long journey. Don’t know where to start because I became a spinner accidentally. I always wanted to be a batsman. Life gave me a chance and when I went to the dressing room of Chennai Super Kings, Muttiah Muralitharan did not want to bowl with the new ball and I had to bowl with the new ball.

Ashwin said, “I had a good start in first-class cricket and had a good career. But the IPL platform brought me to the attention of many people and I got a chance to make my Test debut. People had doubts whether I would be a Test bowler or not and after 10 to 13 years I would say it’s not bad, it’s not a bad achievement. I am very happy. ,
