IND vs ENG, 4th Test: The fourth Test being played between India and England in Ranchi was very memorable for debutant Akash Deep. First, he took 3 wickets in the first 6 overs of his spell against England and finally he revealed about those days when he saw only darkness ahead of him and felt that his career was going nowhere.

Akash recalled the time in 2015 when his father was paralyzed and died due to medical negligence. This was also the year when he lost his elder brother.

Akash Deep said dejectedly:-

Akash said dejectedly, “My father wanted me to do something in life but I could not do anything while he was alive.” Then, shedding tears, he dedicated his brilliant performance of taking 3 wickets for 70 runs in 17 overs on the first day to his father.

Also, one hour before the start of the fourth Test, Akash Deep was given the Test cap by coach Rahul Dravid. Before he went to the ground he went to where his mother and relatives were waiting. He went and hugged him after which he went back.

Akash Deep further said:-

Akash Deep said, “The family was very emotional, they have gone through a lot.” Also remembering his days in Dehri village of Sasaram in Bihar, he once told The Indian Express, “The road in our village was like The journey was absolutely bumpy.

Father of Akash was a school teacher :-

Let us tell you that Akash’s father was a school teacher who wanted his son to progress in studies. Although Akash loved cricket but there were no facilities in his village. When asked how he started playing cricket in his childhood, he said: “There was no cricket in my childhood!” Despite this, cricket became his passion in his teenage years. Till the age of 18, he had never picked up a red ball in his life.

Wherever he went he left his mark. “Life has been such that I know I have to make the most of every opportunity I get,” he says.

Took special advice from Jasprit Bumrah :-

Akash has also revealed about taking advice from Jasprit Bumrah a few days before his Test debut. He said, “Bumrah bhai gave me a valuable advice, he told me to hit back of length on this pitch. He said that at the international level, batsmen keep trying to get ahead of you, so back of length is better.” “
