ECB announced the replacement of Harry Brook on January 21 :-

Following Harry Brook’s withdrawal from the Test squad, the ECB announced on Sunday, 21 January, that middle-order batsman Dan Lawrence will replace Harry Brook in the England squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against India. Lawrence, 26, will join the rest of his teammates on Monday, January 22, before traveling to India.

IND vs ENG, Test: This surprising selection by ECB :-

Let us tell you that this is a bit of a surprising selection by the ECB because Lawrence last played a Test in 2022, when he took the field against West Indies at St. George’s Park.

Apart from this, many people were expecting that Keaton Jennings, who is an opener, would be included in the team in place of Brook.

Jennings recently scored 154 and 64 for England Lions against India A in the first match of the four-day unofficial Test in Ahmedabad.
