IND vs ENG, Test: England’s young leg spinner Rehan Ahmed has again faced problems in India due to visa. He was stopped by Indian Immigration officials in Rajkot on Monday, 12 February as he was found to be in possession of a single entry visa.
Even before this he had not got entry in India and he was not available for the first test match. Although he came to India before the second match, he left with the Abu Dhabi team after playing the second match. Now that he has returned with the team, once again the problem of visa has arisen with him.
What is single entry visa?
A person holding a single entry visa is not allowed to exit or re-enter the country. The England team returned to India via an Abu Dhabi-Rajkot chartered flight after enjoying a 10-day break in Abu Dhabi between the second and third Tests.
BCCI official said,
“The England team have again been advised to undergo the visa process which will take place over the next two days. The player has been allowed to enter the country with the rest of the squad and will attend practice on Tuesday, February 13.”

Rehan Ahmed is the only player in the entire English team who does not have a proper visa: –
This was the first case when an international flight landed directly in Rajkot. For this reason, a temporary immigration counter was set up with Jamnagar officials supervising the work.
Rehan was the only one among the 31-member English team who did not have a proper visa. Rehan became the youngest male Test cricketer for England to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi last year. Ahmed was born in 2004 in Nottingham, his father’s name is Naeem.
Jack Leach out of test series due to injury :-
Rehan is one of three young spinners who have impressed on the Indian tour, with left-arm spinner Tom Hartley and off-spinner Shoaib Bashir making their debut here. Rehan has taken eight wickets in two test matches so far.
The trio will now shoulder the burden of spin on the tour with Jack Leach ruled out due to injury. So far, England have adopted a three-spinner strategy along with a lone fast bowler. James Anderson played the Visakhapatnam Test match, while Mark Wood was seen in action in Hyderabad. Joe Root is the fourth spin bowling option in the team.
