IND vs ENG, Test: The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on January 24 evening that Shoaib Bashir has received his visa and will join the England team in India by the end of the week.

Shoaib Bashir not available for selection in the first test match :-

The uncapped Somerset spinner is not available for selection for the opening Test match of the series starting January 25 in Hyderabad. He was forced to fly back to England from Abu Dhabi to complete the necessary formalities to obtain visa approval.

The England and Wales Cricket Board posted on its Twitter account, “Shoaib Bashir has now received his visa and will travel to India this weekend to join up with the team. We are pleased that the situation has now been resolved.”

Shoaib Bashir’s family is of Pakistani origin :-

The delay in the visa of the 20-year-old cricketer, whose family is of Pakistani origin, turned into a major issue after a British government spokesperson called for “fair” treatment for the young player following England captain Ben Stokes’ “frustration” over the matter. demanded.

Stokes said in the pre-match press conference on 24 January, “When I first got this news in Abu Dhabi, I said that until Shoaib Bashir gets the visa, we should not fly. I am quite disappointed that Bashir had to go through this.”

A British government spokesperson said :-

A British government spokesperson told ‘ESPNcricinfo’ that this is not the first time that citizens of Pakistani origin have faced delays in obtaining Indian visas. We fully expect India to treat British citizens fairly at all times in its visa process.”

India captain Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference :-

India captain Rohit Sharma presented his views on the matter in the pre-match press conference and expressed hope that Bashir will be seen in action soon.

Rohit said, “I feel for him. Unfortunately, I don’t sit in the visa office to take decisions. Hopefully, he will be here soon.”

Also, let us tell you that Australian opener of Pakistani origin Usman Khawaja also had to face a similar situation when he came to India last year to play a Test series.
