Mahela Jayawardene is the only batsman in this list who has more than 1000 runs to his name. A total of 1016 runs were scored from Mahela’s bat from 2007 to 2014 T20 World Cup.

Mahela Jayawardene scored 1000 runs in 25 innings in the T20 World Cup, while Virat Kohli has scored 927 runs in 20 innings. If Kohli scores 73 runs today, he will become the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs in T20 World Cup. Even if he is not able to do the same against the Netherlands, he will still have some more chances left.

On the other hand, if Virat Kohli manages to score 39 runs against the Netherlands today, he will become the second highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup, while breaking the record of former West Indies opener Chris Gayle.
