IND vs NZ ODI: Tim Southee created history, became 5th New Zealand bowler to do so

New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee has crossed the 200 wicket mark in ODI cricket. He became the fifth New Zealand bowler to do so. He reached this milestone during the first ODI against India in Auckland. Tim Southee did this feat in 149 matches.

Tim Southee did a great bowling in the first ODI against India :-

In the first match of the three-match series against India, Saudi took 3 wickets for 73 runs in his 10 overs. His economy rate was 7.30. He took the wickets of captain Shikhar Dhawan (72) and Shreyas Iyer (80) and dismissed Shardul Thakur (1). Tim Southee has taken 202 wickets in 149 ODIs at an average of 33.83 and an economy of 33.83.

Tim Southee ‘s best performance has been taking 7 wickets for 33 runs. The list of highest wicket takers for New Zealand in ODIs includes bowlers Chris Harris (203), Kyle Mills (240) and former all-rounder Daniel Vettori (297).

It may be noted that in the first match, India scored 306/7 in 50 overs with fifties from Dhawan, Shubman Gill and Iyer as well as a quickfire 37 off 16 balls by all-rounder Washington Sundar. Pacer Lockie Ferguson and Southee took three wickets each. Adam Milne also got a wicket.
