IND vs NZ: In the first match of the three-match T20 series, New Zealand defeated India by 27 runs. Kiwi batsman Daryl Mitchell’s unbeaten 59 off 30 balls played an important role between victory and defeat.

Before the start of the last over of New Zealand’s innings, they were 149/6 and they did not look to go beyond 160, but Mitchell scored 27 runs in the last over of the innings by Arshdeep Singh, hitting three sixes and a four. New Zealand won this match by 21 runs.

Washington Sundar said at the post-match press conference – “Daryl’s innings is very important for them and like I said 150 would have been a score and we would have been very happy to go to that score but Mitchell made all the difference with a brilliant half-century.”

“He played till the end and made the difference in the last over. I think overs like this will happen in T20 cricket and it has happened on a couple of occasions in this match. You can see that in three-four overs 15 or more runs scored in that format.

IND vs NZ: Sundar said –

The 23-year-old also came to the rescue of left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who took one wicket for 51 runs in four overs. He said, “Arshdeep has taken many wickets for India and in the IPL. We are also human beings and we also want to play. When the competition is very tough and you have a strong opponent, this can happen.”
