On 13 October, Afridi posted a picture of himself with the physiotherapy team on Twitter, lauding their ongoing assistance and support in his recovery. He also provided an update on his imminent arrival in Australia to join the team.

Pakistan will play two exhibition games in the T20 World Cup before the decider against India. One against England on 17 October and the other against Afghanistan on 19 October.
