IND vs PAK: Big update on India-Pakistan series, ICC took shocking decision

IND vs PAK: Pakistan Cricket Board President Rameez Raja had proposed a four-nation tournament in the presence of India in the board meeting of the ICC. But the ICC has rejected this proposal. According to the current ICC rules, a member board can host a tournament of maximum three countries as only the global body has the authority to host tournaments of more than three countries.

ICC’s decision on four-nation tournament :-

IND vs PAK: Pakistan Cricket Board President Rameez Raja’s proposal for a four-nation tournament was unanimously rejected by the board. After this decision, the possibility of India vs Pakistan matches came to an end. Raja prepared a white paper before the ICC for the four-nation annual T20 or ODI tournament involving Pakistan, India, Australia and England.

Rameez Raza believes that the global body can make a profit of $ 750 million in five years :-

They believe that this can benefit the global body of $ 750 million (about Rs 57 billion) in five years; a large part of which can be given to these four countries. There were reports that Tom Harrison of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was also willing to independently consider plans for a four-nation tournament but the board meeting did not progress further.

IND vs PAK:BCCI never supported four-nation tournament :-

The BCCI was always clear in its stand that they would not play in the four-nation tournament in their hectic schedule. India plays against Pakistan only in tournaments of many countries like Asia Cup and World Cup. A member of the board said, “The Financial and Commercial Affairs Committee (F&CA) of the ICC was against the proposal.

MPA (Member Participation Agreement) does not allow any member nation to host a tournament of more than three countries. Such a plan will have an impact on the major ICC tournaments (ODI and T20 World Cup).

IND vs PAK:India and Pakistan compete in ICC tournament :-

India and Pakistan have been facing each other only in ICC and Asian Cricket Council tournaments since 2012. The last limited overs series between the two teams was in 2012. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had also said in an interview to a foreign news agency; that the focus of the board is to fulfill its bilateral commitments.
